A big crowd showed up for the annual Schulenburg Sausagefest in Downtown Schulenburg on Saturday, April 1. Terri Wagner of the Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce said she had no way of knowing how many attended because the event does not charge admission.

Robbery in Progress at T-Mobile Stopped by LGPD

La Grange Police broke up a burglary in progress at the T-Mobile Store on the west side of town Sunday morning. La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports that Officers Mitchell Maxwell and Jeff Archard discovered the burglary while patrolling the west end of town around 4:18 a.m.
Police found a hammer that was used to break the glass near the store entrance.

La Grange Police Department Shows Off New Shields, Vests

La Grange Police Department received a grant from the Texas Governor’s Office to purchase new ballistic shields and vests for each officer in the department. Police Chief David Gilbreath and Officer David Mohr showed off the new equipment at the La Grange City Council meeting Monday night, March 27.

LGISD Approves Personnel Moves

Here are some more highlights from Monday’s La Grange ISD school board meeting: Personnel The board approved new probationary teacher contracts for Kristy Collier – elementary PE, and Caitlyn Urban – middle school reading intervention. Michael Powell is transferring from middle school ISS teacher to middle school leadership/elective.

Faith Lutheran Music Students Honored

These three students at Faith Lutheran High School competed at the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) Music Competition, hosted by Concordia University in Austin on Friday, March 24. Each chose a piece from the UIL Prescribed Music List and performed it before a professional judge who critiqued their tone, style, presentation, mechanics and interpretation of the piece.
