Schulenburg Native Takes Home Blue Ribbon

At the ARTS’International Competition opening, Stephanie Shroyer, a talented local artist, won first place in the 3-Dimensional art category. Last Saturday, the atmosphere at the ARTS Gorman Gallery was electric, with a packed house eagerly attending the event, where prizes exceeding $6,000 in cash and merchandise were awarded.

Traffic Detours in Fayetteville After Water Leak

Due to the volume of 18-wheelers passing through Fayetteville, the City of Fayetteville began coordinating traffic routing with the Department of Transportation, the sheriffs department and DPS on July 13 to investigate a water leak the next day. The traffic was rerouted from Hwy. 159 and N. Rusk on July 14 and the digging began.

Hospital Center of Excellence Reports on Weekly Activities

Due diligence efforts continued this week with the help of the current administration, and staff of St. Marks Medical Center. All items on the term sheet are under review and progressing well. Hundreds of additional files and folders were analyzed in efforts to fully blueprint the current operations and solidify the master plan and Hospital Center of Excellence (HCOE) strategy.

Seven Arrested for Theft at Pilot

Schulenburg Police arrested seven suspects following a theft from a local convenience store. On Tuesday, July 18, at approximately 7:45 p.m., officers with the Schulenburg Police Department received notice that a theft just occurred at the Pilot Travel Center.
Schulenburg Police stopped a van on Interstate 10 Tuesday evening after a report of theft at the Pilot Travel Center. Officers recovered the merchandise from the van and arrested seven suspects.
