American Legion Quade-Werchan Post Meets Oct. 5

The October meeting of American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 was held on Thursday, Oct. 5, in conjunction with the Carmine Chamber of Commerce Night Out at the Carmine Fire Station. The Post, with assistance from members of the Round Top-Carmine 4-H Club, conducted a Flag Disposal Ceremony at the beginning of the event in accordance with procedures of the American Legion. The Chamber and the 4-H organization previously collected flags for disposal and prepared them for the ceremony.

Participating for the Post were Vice Commander Marvin Wessels, Financial Officer Frank Williams, Executive Committee Member Thom Drummond, and Adjutant Bruce Bockhorn. Other members of the post attending the event were Justin Meaders, Eugene Goolsby, and Floyd Braun. Students participating in the ceremony were Morgan Williams, Lylah Robertson, Bowen Williams, and Pyper Albrecht. Ladies Auxiliary member assisting in the ceremony was Carobeth Fuchs Bockhorn.

The next regular meeting of the Post and Auxiliary will occur at their facility on Nov. 9, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

All members of the American Legion and Auxiliary are encouraged to attend. Any interested veterans, spouses of veterans, and daughters of veterans are welcome and also encouraged to attend.
