Early Fayette County History: 

St. James’ Episcopal Church and the Record have recently published a book on the role in the history of our county of the iconic church. There follows an excerpt from the book. It tells the story of distinguished members who were instrumental in building the church.

RT-C ISD to Hold Early Childhood Screening

The Round Top-Carmine Independent School District, in cooperation with the Round Top-Carmine Special Services Cooperative, will screen three and four-year-old children in the school district for the Early Childhood Program on Tuesday, Aug. 8, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. at the Round Top-Carmine Elementary School located at 608 North Washington Street, Round Top.

Shelter Offers Discount Voucher to Spay/Neuter Your Pets

The Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is 28 weeks into 2023 and have an average intake of 33 animals a week. As of July 14, total intake is 946: 449 dogs and 497 cats in need. As of July 14, the shelter has 118 animals in care: 49 dogs/69 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.

Emerging Artists Youth Competition

The Emerging Artists Competition provides an annual opportunity for creative teens to showcase their creations. The exhibition will run from Aug. 5-26 at the ARTS Ross Gallery, 114 North Live Oak Street in Fayetteville. Registration is now open online. Visit https://form.jotform. com/231656174739162.
