Ladies Enjoy Block Paint Classes Held in Winchester

W Quilt Block Paint Classes were held this last week with members of the Waller/ Hempstead Quilt Guild and the members of the Victoria Quilt Guild making the trip to Winchester to paint blocks to display in their area of Texas. Classes will resume on Sept.

H-E-B Celebrates 50 Years in La Grange

The La Grange H-E-B store held a 50th anniversary celebration on Saturday, June 22. A huge crowd of folks filled the store and the surrounding grounds for entertainment and free food throughout the afternoon.

Charges Pending For Mullins Prairie Burglars

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office identified suspects who they say are responsible for the crime spree last week around Mullins Prairie. The thieves broke into Mullins Prairie Store last Monday and stole several bottles of liquor and cases of beer from.

Chang: From China to Netherlands to Festival Hill

For Richard Chang, musicianship is in his bloodline. His parents, both opera singers, met while studying at a conservatory in China. Then, they immigrated to the Netherlands, where they raised Chang. From a young age, they encouraged him to become a musician as well, setting him up with piano lessons. He never expected to become a professional, but Chang found his passion for the art growing and growing until he knew that it’s what he was meant to do.

Founders Day Shoot to Honor Dale Hutcherson

The Fayette County Gun Club is hosting its first annual Founders Day Shoot, which is open to the public. This year’s shoot will honor FCGC founder Dale Hutcherson with a 10-station, 100-bird Sporting Clay event on August 12.

Round Top Hermann Sons Lodge No. 151 will meet Thursday, July 27 at the Round Top American Legion Hall. Social hour at 6 p.m. and meeting at 6:30 p.m. Hotdogs will be furnished and members are asked to bring a side dish or dessert.
