Health Fair Coming to Bastrop County on August 12

The Bastrop County Health Fair is excited to announce its upcoming event aimed at fostering a healthier community by showcasing health-related agencies, promoting preventive healthcare practices, encouraging regular exercise, advocating for good nutrition, and educating the public on healthy living and basic lifesaving information. The fair will take place on August 12, from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Bastrop Convention and Exhibit Center.

Smithville Man Charged

On Friday, July 21 at approximately 12:02 a.m., Deputy Austin Moore stopped a vehicle near La Grange. The vehicle continued traveling for an extended period of time and Moore observed several criminal indicators during the time the vehicle was not stopping. The vehicle eventually came to a stop and after detaining both occupants of the vehicle a probable cause search was initiated.
