CASA Joins Churches Across the Country in ‘Stand Sunday’

Since 2004, churches across the country have showed their commitment to supporting the most vulnerable populations in their communities through Stand Sunday— a globally recognized day of prayer for children and families involved in foster care on Nov. 12. This year, CASA of Bastrop, Fayette & Lee Counties is joining alongside them.

Burn Ban Lifted Here

Fayette County Judge Dan Mueller lifted the burn ban beginning Tuesday, Oct. 31, after abundant rainfall fell across the County.

Runaway Teens Steal A Vehicle

Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies with assistance from Flatonia Police apprehended a group of runaway youth in a stolen vehicle on Monday.

According to a report from Sheriff Keith Korenek, deputies responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle parked at a business in the Flatonia area. The deputies arrived at the business, Prototype Machine Co., and determined that the suspicious vehicle was reported stolen from San Antonio. Another vehicle belonging to the business was missing.

Burglary In Progress Broken Up Next to Czhilispiel

Flatonia Police broke up a burglary in progress Sunday afternoon while the Czhilispiel festival was winding down just a few blocks away. Flatonia Police Chief Lee Dick reports that he and Officer Billy Kalina were patrolling The Czhilispiel on a fourwheeler Sunday afternoon.
