Burn Ban Lifted Here
Fayette County Judge Dan Mueller lifted the burn ban beginning Tuesday, Oct. 31, after abundant rainfall fell across the County.
The Judge asks everyone to exercise extreme care and caution when burning, and you must plan the activity so that you are always present until the fire is completely out.
Please contact the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department at (979) 968-5856 or (979) 743-HELP (4357) and advise them of your intent to burn.
Judge Mueller pleads with all citizens to please use common sense when burning and to be advised of the following:
• Start burns early in the morning and make sure they are extinguished before sunset (this a TCEQ rule);
• If burning trash, please have a water hose nearby;
• Do not burn in windy conditions;
• Have a safe zone around the burn;
• Do not leave burns unattended; • If a burn gets out of control, call 911 immediately.
