Registration is now open for the Gideon Lincecum Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalists’ 2024 training class for new Master Naturalists. The Texas Master Naturalist Program’s mission is to develop a corps of well informed volunteers to provide education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities for the State of Texas.

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) reports that renovations on the old iron truss bridge across the Colorado River in La Grange could begin by the end of the year. TxDOT spokesperson Lucea’n Kuykendall said a pre-construction with the contractor, Cerka Inc., is scheduled for Nov.

This simple thought has guided the Pilot and Anchor Clubs of La Grange since the year their clubs were chartered: 1985 for Pilots and 2000 for Anchors. Based on the principles of “Friendship and Service” both clubs have provided community service that has made a difference in the quality of life for many children and adults, especially for those with brain related disorders. Both clubs are thrilled to be able to climb back, albeit slowly, with increased membership and a new energy, after experiencing COVID and its lingering effects.
