Master Naturalist Training Class Registration Open

Registration is now open for the Gideon Lincecum Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalists’ 2024 training class for new Master Naturalists. The Texas Master Naturalist Program’s mission is to develop a corps of well informed volunteers to provide education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities for the State of Texas.

Master Naturalist trainees must successfully complete the approved training program with at least 40 hours of combined field and classroom instruction. The Chapter’s training program is a 15-week course that meets on Mondays and Saturdays from Jan. 13, 2024 through May 18, 2024. The training includes presentations and guided field trips with subject matter experts.

Topics will range from land management, climatology, herpetology to botany and ornithology, for example. Students will also learn about soils, pollinators and insects, mammals, archeology, land stewardship, aquatic systems and much more.
