Fayette County Recylcled 1.2 Million Pounds Last Year
We’ve been having another great year within the Fayette County Recycling Program, recycling over 1.2 million pounds in plastic, newspaper, magazines, cardboard and aluminum (as of Oct. 31.) According to a Keep Texas Recycling report, 4.1 million gallons of water were saved by recycling. In addition to that, we have recycled just over 300 tons of glass, 375 tons of scrap metal, 15,990 pounds of electronics, and 359 tires. We have properly disposed of 25,407 pounds of household hazardous waste with the bulk of it being latex paint and mulched some 18,000 cubic yards of brush.
