18-Wheeler Catches Fire at Truck Stop

An 18-wheeler caught fire next to the diesel pumps at the Pilot Truck Stop in Schulenburg Thursday night, March 21. Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department got the call around 11:30 p.m. Fire Chief Darren Guentert said the truck’s diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) filter got hot and melted, starting a small fire, which was contained using fire extinguishers.
