JP Open House

Moreau would like to invite Fayette County out for an evening of community and music, in partnership with the Fayetteville Courthouse Music Series. Join on Tuesday, March 26 from 5-8 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided. Guests are invited to come see the office, meet staff, and stay on the square to enjoy the talent of musician, Alex Meixner. Music starts at 6 p.m. and the event is free. Bring chairs or blankets and enjoy the JP2 office and Fayetteville Courthouse Music Series.

‘The Chosen’

The award winning series “The Chosen” is returning to La Grange. The first episode of Season 4 will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at La Grange Church of Christ, 646 E. Hwy 71. Come early for a meal at 6. No cost for the meal or show.

Relay Bake Sale

A bake sale will be held on Thursday, March 28 from 9 a.m. until sold out in front of Le Petite on the square in La Grange. Stop by for your holiday treats. The proceeds will benefit The American Cancer Society.

Second Chance

Second Chance Emporium Donations drop-off area and sales store will be open Friday, March 29, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. The donations drop-off area and sales store will be closed on Saturday, March 30.

There’s more New Life Methodist Church will be holding Holy Week services and an Easter egg hunt as follows: Palm Sunday, March 24, 9 a.m. fellowship time with coffee and snacks; 9:45 a.m. Worship including a palm and musical instrument processional for adults and children; Good Friday, March 29, 6 p.m. service and Easter Sunday, March 31, 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services with fellowship time and an Easter egg hunt for the kids between services. The Methodist Men will also have leftovers from the previous day’s barbecue stand at Blue Hills during the Antique Fair for sale in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is welcome.

Holy Week Church Schedule

First Presbyterian Church of La Grange located at 205 S. Franklin Street will be celebrating Holy Week with the following Holy Week services: March 24, Palm Sunday 10:30 a.m. morning Worship with children’s palm parade; March 28, Maundy Thursday 6 p.m. evening Worship with Communion; March 29, Good Friday 3 p.m. prayer service; March 31, Sunrise Service in conjunction with La Grange Church of Christ at Kreische Brewery/Monument Hill State Historic site located on the bluff at 414 TX-92 Spur, La Grange; March 31, Easter Sunday 10:30 a.m. festive morning Worship.

Holy Week Services at St. Paul

Holy Week services at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church are Thursday, March 28, at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Maundy Thursday worship with Holy Communion; and Sunday, March 31 at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Easter Worship with Holy Communion. An Easter egg hunt for the children will happen between the two services on Easter morning. All are welcome at St. Paul, 110 W. Walnut, La Grange.

La Grange Garden Club Guest Speaker Brianne Bernsen of Plum Fabulous Foods will be the guest speaker at the La Grange Garden Club meeting Thursday, March 28 at 2 p.m. Plum Fabulous Foods is dedicated to service and education in organic gardening and family farming of healthy food. Election of La Grange Garden Club officers will also take place at this meeting. The community is always invited to attend the informative presentations of the Garden Club’s meeting. The La Grange Garden Club meets at the Randolf Recreation Center, 653 Pearl St. La Grange, at 2 p.m. the fourth Thursday of the month. Good Friday Church Service

The Schulenburg Ministerial Alliance community Good Friday service will be held at First Methodist Church, 209 N. Upton Ave., Schulenburg, on March 29 at noon. Pastor Lemae Higgs of Swiss Alp Lutheran Church will preach. A light meal will follow. A free will offering to support the work of the Ministerial Alliance will be taken.

City Offices Holiday Schedule La Grange City offices will be closed Friday, March 29, in observance of Good Friday. Waste Management will be working their normal garbage schedule. If you need additional information, call (979) 968-3127.

Antique and Classic Car Show

The Fayetteville Lions Club will host their antique and classic car show on the historic downtown square in Fayetteville on Saturday, March 30. Free admittance, free parking, food and drink available on site for purchase. Goodie bags and oldies music. First Baptist Church Easter Service First Baptist Church in La Grange will hold Easter Services at the La Grange High School football field Sunday, March 31 starting at 9:30 a.m followed by an Easter egg hunt for kids.

Rutersville Cemetery Decoration Day Decoration Day will be observed at the Rutersville Cemetery on Sunday, March 31. Remember your loved ones with flowers or decorations.

St. Paul Easter Sunday

Easter morning worship services at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 110 W. Walnut in La Grange, are scheduled at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Easter Sunday, March 31. Services will include special music and Holy Communion. An Easter egg hunt for the children is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. following the early service. All are welcome to join.

Birth of A Navy Online Talk

Winedale’s Online Talk: “Birth of a Navy: Samuel Rhoads Fisher, Founding Father of the Texas Navy” will be held Tuesday, April 2, at noon. Dallam Masterson andAdmiral Beth Fisher will speak about the creation of the Texas Navy and the role their ancestor, Samuel Rhoads Fisher, played in the process.
