Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek wants the public and especially businesses to be aware of current incidents occurring in Fayette County. Twice this week on separate evenings, an unknown male suspect has entered two separate convenience stores within Fayette County asking for a large monetary amount of Texas Lottery tickets, ranging from $450-$800 worth of tickets.

Rural Nonprofit Networking Group Hosting Stakeholder Forum Feb. 14

The Rural Nonprofit Networking Group (RNNG) is excited to invite all nonprofit staff and volunteers to join their next gathering which will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14. RNNG creates opportunities for the organizations that do so much good in our rural communities to share their missions and visions, discuss community needs and partnership opportunities, bring in experts to facilitate growth and professionalism, and simply connect to maximize the efficiency and impact that participants can bring to Fayette, Colorado, Lavaca, and surrounding counties.

Private Applicators Training February 27

A private applicators license is required by the state, in order to purchase restricted use pesticides. In order to obtain a license, it is mandatory to attend a pesticide applicator training and pass a 100-question test. This course will teach participants proper procedures for applying pesticides. This is the training only. Testing procedures will be explained during the training.

Kids Found After High Speed Chase

On Jan. 30 at approximately 1:06 a.m., Deputy Jason Fowler conducted a welfare check on a vehicle parked at a convenience store in the 100 block of State Highway 71 in Ellinger.
