Gene Jaster Day Proclaimed

La Grange Mayor Jan Dockery signed a proclamation Monday, April 22, declaring that day as “Gene Jaster Day” in the City of La Grange. Jaster (right) retires this year as executive director of the La Grange Housing Authority, a post he has held for 25 years. His tenure began on April 1, 1999. The proclamation read in part that Jaster’s “biggest accomplishment was changing the minds of tenants from living in the ‘projects’ to taking pride and feeling as living in a community.” Staff photo by Andy Behlen
