Stolen Vehicle Recovered

La Grange Police Chief, David Gilbreath reports that on Wednesday, May 1, at 11:50 p.m. La Grange Police Officers Steven Haynie, and Bret Meinardus responded to a call of a female motorist that she was being followed by another vehicle.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s dispatcher instructed the caller to drive to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department. When the caller arrived at the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department the vehicle that was following her pulled into the sheriff’s department parking lot behind her and parked a few feet away from her vehicle.

La Grange Officers Haynie and Meinardus arrived on scene. When Officer Haynie ran a registration check it was discovered that the vehicle was a 2017 red Ford Explorer stolen out of Mont Belvieu. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 39-year-old Sergio Andres Garza from Pasadena.

Inside the vehicle La Grange Officers found several containers of what was believed to be Adderall, a schedule II narcotic.

Sergio Garza was booked into the Dan R. Beck Justice Center for Unauthorized Use of a motor Vehicle and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
