A Tasty Weekend Brings in the Crowds

The Schulenburg Sausagefest drew a big crowd on Saturday, April 6. Activities included a sausage making competition, contests for homemade wine, pickles and sauerkraut, a sausage-toss contest (pictured below), hog-calling contest (won by Mona Lara of Abilene, pictured at right), and live music through the day.

The second annual Texas Burger Bash was held in downtown La Grange Saturday as teams from all over the state set up grills and vied for the title of best burger in a trio of categories. Below, right, the judges tent was filled with serious tasters. The event benefits Feed the Need Ministries.

The La Grange Garden Club is having their annual bulb sale on April 11 and April 12 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Faison House located at 822 S. Jefferson in La Grange.
