The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild will be hosting Jean Ann Bruyant with “What is your Quilting Personality”presentation. Ms. Bruyant will identify our personality “color” and explore those of others in attendance. Please join July 23 for this informative presentation and learn more about your “color” in relation to your own quilting style. The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Randolph Recreation Center, 653 East Pearl Street, Room A East, La Grange. Guild meetings begin at 6 p.m. on even months and 10 a.m. on odd months. Our meetings are always open to the public, so grab a friend and come learn more about this wonderful service organization right here in La Grange. The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will have their next meeting on Saturday, Aug. 3 at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange, located at 255 Svoboda Ln. For anyone interested in learning about beekeeping, there will be a Beekeeping 101 presentation, “Honey Bee Pests and Diseases” from 4:30-5:30 p.m. A potluck dinner will follow, bring your favorite entrée, side or dessert to share. Afterwards, there will be a business meeting, and a presentation by Brandon Karisch, Appraiser, with the Fayette County Appraisal District. This is a great opportunity for new beekeepers to meet with club members. Membership dues for 2024 are $25/year, individual or family.
