A rave dance party featuring psychedelic trance music took place last weekend on Frances Rd. near Plum.
Residents in the area reported loud, thumping music that went on until the early hours of the morning on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Hosted by a group called Dimensional Mayan Tribe, the event was called the BAAXAL Summer Gathering.
The event took place at the Clearwater Retreat Center on Frances Rd., which is described on its website as follows: “From soul-nourishing ayahuasca ceremonies to profound mushroom experiences, our retreat offers a safe and supportive environment for your personal growth and spiritual evolution.”
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reported two arrests on Frances Rd. on July 12. Around 12:30 a.m. that day, Deputies Wesly Arrison and Jason Fowler responded to a disturbance.
A report from the Sheriff’s Office said an intoxicated male, later identified as 34-year-old Marco Hernandez, was located walking in the roadway. The male had gotten into an argument with his girlfriend and told the deputies he was attempting to walk back home to Dallas.
Deputies tried to release the male to a friend, the report said, but the friend did not want to accept responsibility for him. Later, the girlfriend who was identified as 48-yearold Martha Ibarra, requested to speak with Hernandez. Ibarra was also intoxicated and while speaking with Marco, the report said, she attempted to strike him in the face. Deputies separated the couple.
Both Marco and Martha were arrested for Public Intoxication and were transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center in La Grange for booking without incident.
