Schulenburg Police Respond to Several Animal Complaints
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of June 2-7.
Assault
On June 4, Officer Hailee Vincent was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Summit for assault family violence.
Agency Assist
On June 2, Sgt. Tobey Mc-Fadden responded to the 200 block of Kallus to assist with CPR in progress call and a large crowd gathering outside of residence.
On June 6, Officer MD Krenek was dispatched to Foster Creek for an abandoned vehicle in a gully. A wrecker was called.
On June 7, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 4100 block of FM 957 to assist with a verbal disturbance. Officer was able to calm both parties down.
Accident
On June 3, Powe responded to the 100 block of Huser where caller advised she ran off the road to avoid an animal, officer found the vehicle in the ditch and the driver had left the scene prior to his arrival. Driver had called her husband, and he was on his was to pull vehicle out.
On June 7, Officer James Whited responded to the 25 block of N. Kessler where vehicle struck a deer on I-10 eastbound before Schulenburg. Animal Complaint
On June 3, Code enforcement officer and animal control officer Gina Harden responded to the 100 block of Simpson for a dog that appeared at his house and been panting excessively. Dog was given food and fresh water, and the owner was located.
On June 6, Harden received information about some dumped dogs in the 600 block of Upton.
On June 7, Vincent responded to the 1100 block of Bohlmann Avenue about a pit bull running around Wolters park. Owner arrived and claimed dog but was advised to get rabies shot and bring paperwork to the police department. Criminal Trespass
On June 6, Krenek spoke with a couple in regard to issuing a criminal trespass warning. Disturbance
On June 3, Powe responded to the 100 block of Cardinal for two subjects outside the residence fighting. Upon arrival officer found a male and female walking away from the residence. The male subject became irate when he was asked for his identification. The subject was told to turn around and refused leading officers to use minimal force to place him in handcuffs. Officers began talking to both subjects and it was determined the disturbance was only verbal in nature and both subjects were released from scene.
On June 7, Vincent spoke with a subject in the 25 block of N. Kessler regarding an individual that approached her in an aggressive way.
Public Intoxication
On June 2, Powe responded to the 1000 block of Bohlmann for a public intoxication complaint.
Suspicious Vehicle
On June 5, Krenek was dispatched to the 500 block of Kallus regarding a vehicle parked in the cemetery unoccupied. Traffic Stop
On June 2, Krenek stopped a driver in the 800 block of S. Kessler for a speed violation. A warning was issued.
On June 3, Powe stopped a driver in the 14 block of N. Kessler for expired registration (7-23) Officer issued a warning for expired registration, and marijuana and multiple items of paraphernalia was located and destroyed.
On June 3, Powe sopped a driver in the 600 block of Kessler for unregistered vehicle (5-22) Driver received a warning for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and a citation for failure to maintain financial responsibility.
On June 6, Powe stopped a driver in the 500 of Block of Kessler for failure to dim headlights, the driver received a warning for failure to dim headlights and a citation for no driver’s license.
On June 6, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for defective headlight. Driver received a warning.
On June 6, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for speeding going 92 in a 75. Driver received a citation for speeding. Passenger who was the registered owner received citations for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and failure to maintain financial responsibility.
On June 6, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 92 in a 75. Driver received a citation.
Welfare Check
On June 3, Vincent was dispatched to the 100 block of Simpson for a woman screaming. Upon arrival discovered it was a verbal argument.
On June 4, Vincent responded to the 16 block of N. Kessler for a subject stranded in town. Subject was transported to Weimar.
