TxDOT Spotlights Texas Ramp Project Builds Again

Impact, Loss from Drunk Driving We all know that drunk driving is dangerous and yet people still choose to get behind the wheel impaired, causing on average 65 alcoholrelated crashes every day last year. Three Texans died daily as a result — their lives extinguished at the hands of those who never thought they would be responsible for a roadside tragedy.

Animal Shelter Update

As of June 21, the total intake for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is 794: 328 dogs and 466 cats in need. As of June 21, the shelter has 144 animals in our care: 61 dogs/83 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.

Maxwell and Pechal Honored for Saving Officer’s Life

The City of La Grange, La Grange Police Department and Fayette County EMS presented life saving awards to the two men who saved the life of La Grange Police Officer Kevin Currington last month. Currington nearly died from blood loss after his service pistol unintentionally discharged inside of his holster.
Monday night, the City of La Grange and Fayette County EMS presented life saving awards to La Grange Police Officer Mitchell Maxwell and citizen Michael Pechal, the two men who saved the life of La Grange Police Officer Kevin Currington last month.
