Fayette County Country Music Club to Host Gospel Show Nov. 18

This month the Fayette County Country Music Club Opry is proud to host a Gospel Show with D’Vine Testament and The Fleckables on Monday, Nov. 18 at the La Grange Knights of Columbus Hall in La Grange. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m. Admission is $8.

Holiday Wellness Program Begins Nov. 24

Would you like to maintain or even lose weight this holiday season? A Multi-County Community Wellness program, Holiday Hold’em will begin soon, says Sally Garrett, Fayette County Extension Agent Family & Community Health. This free online challenge is a six-week series dedicated to helping you maintain your weight during the holidays. The goal of this program is for you to maintain your weight within 2 pounds. We also encourage you to focus on consuming 5 servings of vegetables and fruits each day, as well as continue to engage in regular physical activity. We will walk you through interactive activities and scenarios to help you learn how to make correct decisions. Starting on November 24 you will weigh in weekly at home, your fitness center, or your preferred site. Weight and health logs will be provided to help keep track of your habits and progress throughout the series.

Fayette Archives Tour Scheduled For Nov. 18

The staff of the Fayette Heritage Museum and Archives is hosting a tour of the Archives when the Fayette County Historical Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, November 18th in the meeting room of the Fayette Public Library in La Grange.

Senior Connections Plans Trip to Santa Claus Museum in Columbus

We have scheduled our November adventure for Nov. 16. We will visit the Santa Claus Museum in Columbus followed by lunch at the Dewberry Café. If you are interested in this activity and you are a member, please contact us to get on the list. Space on the Schuber bus is limited, and carpooling may need to be organized. New Playground Reflects the Spirit & History of the Bluff

Kreische Brewery and Monument Hill State Historic Sites held the official ribbon cutting for its new, innovative children’s playscape last Thursday, November 7th. The ceremony was well-attended by sites staff and volunteers, members of the sites’ Friends organization, and families from across the Fayette County community. Texas Historical Commission Executive Director Joseph Bell, County Judge Dan Mueller, and La Grange Mayor Jan Dockery were also present to celebrate the playground’s completion and grand opening.
