Holiday Wellness Program Begins Nov. 24

Would you like to maintain or even lose weight this holiday season? A Multi-County Community Wellness program, Holiday Hold’em will begin soon, says Sally Garrett, Fayette County Extension Agent Family & Community Health. This free online challenge is a six-week series dedicated to helping you maintain your weight during the holidays. The goal of this program is for you to maintain your weight within 2 pounds. We also encourage you to focus on consuming 5 servings of vegetables and fruits each day, as well as continue to engage in regular physical activity. We will walk you through interactive activities and scenarios to help you learn how to make correct decisions. Starting on November 24 you will weigh in weekly at home, your fitness center, or your preferred site. Weight and health logs will be provided to help keep track of your habits and progress throughout the series.

Taking part in this program for a healthier you will take less than 5 minutes each week. Make it a holiday challenge and get your office, friends and/or family involved. We hope that you will join us and maintain, no gain this holiday season.
