Art After School is partnering with Arts for Rural Texas. Ballet class on Wednesdays, beginner friendly ballet focusing on practicing and perfecting skills for students interested in the arts for grades K-2. JMG Kids Garden class is also on Wednesdays. Kids will learn the art and science of gardening for grades 4th, 5th and 6th graders. All classes begin in September from 4-5:15 p.m. Registration required for all classes. Folks who travel on SH 159 between La Grange and Rutersville are raising concerns about a spate of recent crashes. Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) upgraded several drainage structures on that stretch of highway recently.

Schulenburg Police Issue Several Traffic Citations Week of July 14-20

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of July 14-20. Animal Complaint On July 15, Animal Control Officer Gina Harden was dispatched to the 1200 block of Kallus to pick up a mother dog and two puppies and take to the animal shelter in La Grange.

On-Demand Bus Service Arrives in City of La Grange

The Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS) launched a new on-demand transit service, CARTS NOW, in La Grange on Sept. 3. With successful programs in Bastrop, Taylor, Lockhart, and Marble Falls (with an average daily ridership of over 100 passenger trips daily), CARTS is excited to expand to La Grange, offering curb-to-curb rides within city limits. To celebrate, CARTS will host a ribbon-cutting with the La Grange Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 11:45 a.m. before the Chamber Board meeting, where residents can meet drivers, explore the vans, and learn about additional services.
