Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports activities of Fayette County Sheriff Deputies for the month of October.

Sgt. Ron Naumann responded to a report of a disturbance at a venue in Warrenton. The parties were separated and no charges were filed. Naumann also responded to a report of harassment which occurred at the antique show. No charges were filed however the subject involved was criminally trespassed from the location.

Deputy Terry Guentert took a report of cruelty to animals which occurred near Waelder in which several goats appeared to have been shot using a firearm. The case remains under investigation at this time.

Deputy Cody Williams conducted a traffic stop on a black Tesla for a traffic violation. After further investigation, a stolen firearm was recovered from the vehicle. Williams also conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic infraction. Williams located approximately 280 grams of methamphetamine inside of the vehicle. One male subject was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail without incident.

Deputy Herman Olvera checked on a blue BMW parked on the shoulder of IH-10 with hazard lights activated. Olvera located a subject who was intoxicated inside of the vehicle to the degree he was a danger to himself and the public. The subject was arrested for Public Intoxication.

Deputy Chris Stansberry was dispatched to a report of a man attacking a woman on the shoulder of SH-71 near Ellinger. The subjects were located and it was determined no assault occurred. The male involved was arrested for Evading Arrest/Detention on foot and the female involved was arrested for Public Intoxication. Stansberry assisted Schulenburg Police with a disturbance call which occurred in their jurisdiction. Stansberry located the male subject who fled from Deputies on foot but was apprehended shortly after. The subject was arrested by the Schulenburg Officer on numerous charges.

Deputy Duane Meagher responded to the Fayette County Courthouse to take a subject into custody. The subject was found to be in possession of a narcotic which was brought into a correctional facility. The subject is facing numerous felony charges as a result. Meagher also located a subject in Warrenton who had an active felony warrant. The subject was arrested.

Deputy Joe Gonzales transported a subject to a mental health facility in Austin, Texas to receive necessary treatment for mental illness.

Deputy Jared Michalec took a report of an assault that occurred at a place of business in the La Grange area. The case was presented to the Fayette County Attorney’s Office and charges were filed. Michalec responded to a call in the Kirtley area of a woman attempting to jump into traffic. The woman was transported to a hospital where she received mental health treatment.

Deputy Jason Fowler with the assistance of the Fayetteville Fire Department and Fayette County EMS responded to Park Prairie at Lake Fayette in reference to a missing person. After a search of the area the missing subject was located and was unharmed. Fowler was dispatched to a residence in the Winchester area in reference to a disturbance in which family members had to restrain the individual. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Jail Administrator Holly Smith reports that Fayette County Correction Officers booked in 49 individuals for the month of October. Smith reports that the Jail Staff transported three individuals to Texas Department of Criminal Justice Facilities throughout the State to begin serving their sentences for crimes committed in Fayette County.
