Locals to Walk the Runway for ARTS Fundraiser

Arts for Rural Texas is hosting its inaugural fashion show called Runway 159. This fun, Texas chic event will feature very wearable clothing and accessories designed or curated by local or regional designers and worn by local celebrities.

Film Fest To Dedicate Entire Day To Veterans Movies

The inaugural Round Top Film Festival (RTFF) has unveiled its first programming announcement, featuring a series of screenings dedicated to honoring America’s veterans. Set for Sunday, November 10, this special veterans programming slate will take place just before Veterans Day in recognition of those who have served in the military. Sponsored by Cibolo Creek Ranch, the lineup includes the Texas premiere of Behind the Lines, short film The Promised Land, feature film MVP and the Academy Award-winning Apollo 13 – along with veteran-focused discussions, Q&A sessions and additional special events.

The Swiss Alp, Ammannsville, Dubina Farm Bureau Local will have a social potluck on Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Swiss Alp Farm Bureau Hall on Hwy. 77. Drake Rangel, the new Fayette County biologist, will be the guest speaker followed by a short business meeting. All are welcome to join for a fun evening.

City of LG Curbside Bulk Trash Pick Up Scheduled Oct. 19

The City of La Grange has designated Saturday, Oct. 19, as Residential Bulk Curbside Pick-Up Day for the hard to dispose of bulky items. Waste Management will pick up one free load of bulky items on this day. All items should be within three feet of the curb by Friday evening. Trucks will be starting at 6 a.m. on Saturday morning to pick up items for La Grange Utility Customers.
