Illegal Dumping Along Reiss Road

Pct. 1 Commissioner Jason McBroom reports that someone illegally dumped a trailer load of construction debris on the side of Reiss Rd. Residents in the area discovered the pile Thursday morning, Dec. 12. Most of the debris was roofing shingles that appeared to have been recently removed from a house, along with an empty box of Modelo beer. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. If anyone saw anything suspicious in the area, please contact the Sheriff’s Office at (979) 968-5856. McBroom’s road and bridge crew cleaned up the site Thursday afternoon. “This is happening more and more,” McBroom said. “This is the second time in a month. It’s got to be from a house in the Muldoon, Reiss Rd., Old Lockhard Rd. area. It’s happening more often and costing us more in maintenance.”
