The Central Texas Food Bank Truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran church on Saturday, Dec. 21. Drive through only from 10-11 a.m. Volunteers are always appreciated.
St. James United Methodist Church located at 710 N. Jackson St. in La Grange will hold a Christmas Celebration Service on Sunday, Dec. 22 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Willie Mae Williams, Pastor. The community is invited to attend.
NewBethel Baptist
The New Bethel Baptist Missionary Christmas Program is Sunday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m There will be two TV raffles plus 10 gift card giveaways along with coats for kids and winter accessories. There’s more St. Mary’s Altar Society will have a candy and bake sale on Saturday, Dec. 21, at 8 a.m. at St. Mary’s Parish Hall next to St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Ellinger. Kolaches, cakes, homemade candy, cookies, pies, hot dogs, sandwiches, sides, Christmas items and more. Raffle tickets will be sold and prizes will be awarded at 12 p.m.
A Christmas Carol Radio Show
The Fayette County Community Theatre (FCCT) this year is gifting KTIM 89.1 FM listeners and members of the community its first ever radio show. It is Charles Dickens’A Christmas Carol adapted by Anthony E. Palermo, and broadcasts of the recorded production will air Saturday, Dec. 21 and Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 7 p.m.
City of LG Christmas Garbage Schedule
La Grange City offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24 and Dec. 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. The week of Dec. 23-27 is garbage and recycle week. Waste Management will also have a holiday on Wednesday. Commercial customers scheduled on Wednesday will be picked up on Thursday. Residential and commercial customers with regular service on Thursday will slide to Friday. Residential and commercial customers with regular service on Friday will slide to Saturday. American Legion Post No. 338 Meetings The American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary are pleased to announce their monthly meetings for the 1st quarter of 2025 are as follows: Jan. 9, Feb. 6, and March 6. Gifted Talented Program Grades 1-11 La Grange ISD is taking nominations for grades 1-11 for the gifted and talented program for the 2025-2026 school year. The gifted and talented program is designed to provide additional challenge and stimulation for academically talented students. Parents, teachers, and community members may nominate students currently enrolled in LGISD to participate in the screening process to determine eligibility for the gifted program.
