American Legion Post No. 338 Vice-Commander Marvin Wessels works with Donnie Wunderlich of AMEN to deliver the post and auxiliary food donation collected.

American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and the Ladies Auxiliary held their monthly meetings on Thursday, Dec. 5. As part of the gathering to celebrate the upcoming holiday season, members shared the spirit of Christmas by collecting nonperishable foods to support a local food pantry.

After clearing the donations from under the Christmas tree at the legion facility, Vice-Commander Marvin Wessels delivered 67 pounds to the AMEN Pantry in La Grange. At AMEN Pantry, located at 851 South Reynolds Street, their mission is to provide food and encouragement to families and individuals in their community. Each week, their volunteers work to have a welcoming location and ensure that the food pantry is well-stocked for those who come and shop.

American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and the Ladies Auxiliary will next meet on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025.
