An 18-wheeler caught fire on SH 71 at the Whataburger exit in La Grange Wednesday, Feb. 5.

The Casino Arts Association is hosting Dinner and a Movie on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Historic Casino Hall. The Villain, a western comedy, starring Kirk Douglas, Ann-Margaret and Arnold Schwarzenegger will be the movie shown. The tickets are $20 per person which includes cost of the movie and a delicious meal of King Ranch casserole, salad, chips, and dessert. The Bluebonnet Master Gardener Lunch-N-Learn educational program is a series of nine informational meetings designed to provide gardening or general landscaping information for homeowners. Fayette County Master Gardeners plan and present a variety of programs from experts in the area and across the state. This series is designed with the homeowner in mind; bring your lunch and learn about a variety of topics that help you have a more productive garden, prettier flower beds, or how to better understand your landscape ecosystems.

A private applicators license is required by the state, in order to purchase restricted use pesticides. In order to obtain a license, it is mandatory to attend a pesticide applicator training and pass a 100-question test. This course will teach participants proper procedures for applying pesticides. This is the training only. Testing procedures will be explained during the training.
