Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $5,000 to the Bugle Boy Foundation. Monies granted will fund music-based outreach programs in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Monies will also be used for songwriting/music workshops for our Veterans, for special needs older youth clients of Turtle Wing’s “And Then A New Day” program and for residents who are part of the intellectually disabled community ranging in age from mid 20s to mid 70s. The mission of the Bugle Boy Foundation is to bring the art of live original music to Fayette County residents for healing and enrichment. Three junior high students of Round Top-Carmine ISD were selected to The Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB) All-Region Band this year. It is a tremendous accomplishment for each of these students. North Massey, Rebekah Sacks, and Liliana Salinas joined fellow small school band members from across the region to learn and rehearse numerous new pieces over an eight hour period before performing in concert at the Jerry Fay Wilhelm Performing Arts Center in Bastrop on Jan. 25. The RTC community is proud of these talented young talented musicians.

February’s “Resources for Successful Living” Lunch and Learn topic will be “Ready, Set, Go.” This monthly event will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 18 from 12:05-12:50 p.m. at the Fayette County Agricultural Building, 255 Svoboda Lane, Room 104 in La Grange.
