On Sunday, Feb. 9, at approximately 7:55 p.m. Schulenburg Police Department Officers and Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the 1200 block of South St. in Schulenburg for a subject being chased by a vehicle. The vehicles were located and stopped.Amale subject had fresh wounds to his arm which were consistent with having been stabbed. He claimed a woman had sprayed him with pepper spray and proceeded to stab him. The female admitted to both stabbing the male and spraying with him with pepper spray, but claimed it was in self defense after being tased.

On Feb. 1, a total of 204 childcare providers from over 18 cities and towns gathered for the Multi-County Child Care Conference, organized by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Hosted by Austin, Fayette, and Wharton Counties, the event took place at the Randolph Recreation Center in La Grange.
