Holy Cross Youth Group Valentines Dinner Rescheduled
Note: Date change for this event due to a playoff basketball game.
The Youth Group at Holy Cross will host their Annual Valentine’s Dinner, the date has been changed to Saturday, Feb. 22. The fellowship hall will be transformed into “Cupid’s Café” where an enjoyable meal will be served by the amazing youth. The menu includes mocktails, charcuterieon- a-stick, hamburger steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, garden salad and dessert. Seating is at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person and available from any youth member or the church office until Feb. 17. Call (979) 242-3333 to purchase tickets for this event.
Wildlife Association
Rabbs Creek Wildlife Association will meet on Sunday, Feb. 16 at the Holy Cross Picnic Grounds. Social will start at 4 p.m. and the meeting will be held at 5 p.m.
Central Texas Food Truck
The Central Texas Food Truck will be at Waldeck Lutheran Church on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 10-11 a.m. Drive through only. Volunteers are always appreciated.
South Lee County VFD
The South Lee County Volunteer Fire Department will have BBQ chickens on Sunday, Feb. 23 at the Serbin Picnic Grounds from 10 a.m.noon. The barbeque is to-go only. Chickens are $12 each, and 16 oz. cups of sauce, potato salad, pinto beans and noodles are $3 each. You can call (979) 366-9650 to place your order.
Pork Steak Dinner
The Holy Cross Youth Group will hold their Annual Pork Steak Fundraiser on Sunday, March 9. Drive thru only at the picnic grounds will be from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Plates are $15 each and include pork steak, green beans, noodles and corn. Tickets are presale only by Thursday, Feb. 27 and may be purchased from the church office, Chevron in La Grange, First National Bank in Giddings or from any youth member. There will also be a bake sale for a freewill donation.
Wednesday Night Bible Study
The Wednesday Night Bible Study at Holy Cross in Warda is studying 2nd Kings. New members are always welcome. If you are interested in participating, please contact Cyndy Zoch to receive a study guide. Her contact email is: cyndy.zoch@gmail.com.
Sewing Circle
The Sewing Circle meets each Thursday from 9 a.m.noon in the old parish hall at Holy Cross in Warda, (this is around the back side of the church). No experience is necessary and you do not have to be a church member to join this fun group. Contact the church office at (979) 2423333 if you have any questions.
Game Day at Holy Cross
The next Game Day at Holy Cross in Warda will be held Thursday, Feb. 20 from noon-2 p.m. A light lunch is served, there is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo and dominoes are offered.
Holy Cross Services
Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.
There is also an 11:30 a.m. Wednesday Bible Study Group.
Transfiguration Sunday is March 2. Ash Wednesday Service will be March 5 at 7 p.m. Midweek Lenten Services will be on Wednesdays from March 12-April 9.
The GEMS group (Girls Embracing Mission Service) will meet Sunday February 23 at 2 p.m. at Holy Cross in Warda.

The archery team has completed their state qualifier and are anxiously awaiting results to determine if they made the state tournament. Results should be posted next week.
The basketball team has made the playoffs, their first district playoff game will be this week. FLHS invites you to like their Facebook page to see exciting things happening at the school, including the basketball schedule.
