Seventh and eighth-grade junior La Grange historians marked March 6, Texas Heroes Day, by placing monument wreaths in downtown La Grange at the historic oak in front of La Grange State Bank, on the east side of the Fayette County Courthouse and at the Monument Hill State Park tomb. The students were under the guidance of teacher Mrs. Marge Williams. This was the first time heroes of the Texas Revolution had been recognized since the 1920s when local Boy Scouts decorated the monuments.

‘Connective Tissue,’a solo exhibition by Sierra Bailey, opens this Saturday, March 8, at the ARTS Ross Gallery. An opening reception will be held from 4 – 6 p.m.. This exhibition features bold contemporary works rich in color and texture.

La Grange Police David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Feb. 2-9.

Dispatchers at the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office didn’t know what to think last Thursday when Deputy Joe Gonzales radioed in to report a kangaroo on the side of the road. Chief Deputy Randy Noviskie of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office said Gonzales was on his way to an unrelated call around 5 p.m.
