Schulenburg Police Report

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Feb. 2-8.

Animal Complaint

On Feb. 3, Officer Jeffrey Whited took a report of an injured cat in the 1200 block of Kessler. The cat may have been hit by a car and was in the caller’s backyard. The call was referred to animal control officer Gina Harden.

On Feb. 7, Animal Control officer Gina Harden received notice of a small dog running around in the park. Dog was taken to the city pound and posted to the Facebook page.

Criminal Mischief

On Feb. 5, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 500 block of Baumgarten for a report of an active disturbance involving a weapon.

Civil Matter

On Feb. 8, Sgt. Tobey Mc-Fadden was dispatched to the 300 block of August in reference to child custody.

Disturbance

On Feb. 8, McFadden traveled to the 600 block of FM 2672 to assist with a disturbance. No arrests were made but parties were separated.

Traffic Stops

On Feb. 3, Whited stopped a driver in the 1600 block of W. Summit for speeding and cited for failure to display driver’s license.

On Feb. 3, Powe stopped a driver for defective headlight in the 300 block of Kessler. Driver received a warning for headlight and citations for unregistered motor vehicle, no insurance, and driving while license invalid.

On Feb. 4, Powe stopped a driver in the 100 block of N. Kessler for no taillights. Driver received a warning.

On Feb. 5, Officer Hailee Vincent stopped a driver in the 400 block of summit for disregarding a red light. Driver received citations for expired drivers license an no insurance.

On Feb. 5, Vincent stopped a driver for running a stop sign at North and Upton. Citation issued for no insurance.

On Feb. 5, Officer Juan Castilleja stopped a driver in the 200 block of Kessler for a defective head lamp. Driver received a verbal warning.

On Feb. 5, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 300 block of Kessler for an unclean license plate. A verbal warning was issued, and driver cleaned the license plate.

On Feb. 6, Vincent stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone. A citation was issued and a warning for address change.

On Feb. 6, Vincent stopped a driver in the 400 block of Kessler for expired registration (5-24). Warning issued.

On Feb. 8, Powe stopped a driver in the 500 block of Summit for a defective headlight. Citations issued for no insurance and displaying the wrong license plate.

Welfare Check

On Feb. 2, Officer Reyden responded to the 600 block of Upton for a welfare concern.

On Feb. 2, Svatek was patrolling in the 1200 block of Summit when he saw a vehicle pulled over. Officer stopped to make sure all was o.k. and was advised by driver his daughter was searching for her phone.
