Senior Connections Schedule

As the sun shines over Schulenburg, Weimar, and Flatonia, an exciting week awaits the active seniors of these vibrant Texas communities at Senior Connections. This gathering place, dedicated to fostering camaraderie and engagement among seniors, is gearing up for a funfilled schedule of events from May 19-23.
Senior Spotlight recently aimed its light on Kerry Van De Steeg. This fairly new member of Senior Connections makes everyone feel that he has been a member of our family for years.

St. John Donates to Kids’ Playground

St. John Lutheran in Ellinger recently donated to the kid’s playground at St. John Lutheran in Rutersville. On hand were President Lucille Koehl, Secretary Maxine Brugger and representatives Shiela Brugger, Laura Brugger and the confirmation and Sunday School youth of Shared Lutheran Ministry.

Plop, plop, fizz, fizz, Valentines, band practice, School plays, ball games, Do your homework! Do I gotta! Moments and mem’ries, Pretty picture walls, A pretty pink dress, Her very first date, Sunday clean clothes, Saturday baths needed or not, Graduations, Oh what a relief it is! Then pause . .

Locals Witness New Pope’s Debut in Person

When the new Pope was announced last week, several folks from Fayette County were there to hear Pope Leo XIV’s first words to the world – in person. Six Schulenburg residents (Sheila Brossmann, Ken Berger, Joyce Canada, Veronica Smith and Thomas and Pam Janda) all work together at the food pantry.
Cardinal Robert Prevost greets the faithful in St. Peters’ Square for the first time at Pope Leo XIV last week. Several Schulenburg residents were there to see it.
