Blazek Receives Citizenship Award From American Legion

At the 2025 Round Top-Carmine High School Academic Banquet held on Thursday, May 8, American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary presented their Citizenship Award 2025 to Evan Blazek.

Blazek was selected for this award based upon his extensive involvement in community events and school activities. In the community he is involved with the Round Top Family Library, the Carmine Hall and the La Grange Animal Shelter. He has volunteered his time as the lead in the RTC Chili Cookoff Fundraiser and serves with the Carmine Fire Department.

As a student, Evan has been involved for the past four years with the 4H, BETA and FFA clubs. In athletics, he has played varsity basketball, tennis and track.

Evan is involved with his church serving as a pianist for worship services at the Round Top Church Christian Fellowship. He also works in the church’s program for students in 2nd to 6th grades to help them with homework and recreational activities.

Evan was awarded a scholarship in the amount of $500 and presented a certificate from the post at the ceremony. He will continue his academic studies this fall at Blinn College. Upon completion, he plans to transfer to Texas A&M University to major in Construction Science with future plans to open his own business in the Round Top-Carmine area.

Evan is the son of Graciela and Anthony Blazak.
