Flood Response Now Tops Special Session Agenda

The July 21 special session called by Abbott includes addressing the July 4 flood, including improving early warning systems and infrastructure in flood zones, beefing up emergency communications, funding for affected areas and updating state preparedness and recovery procedures, The Dallas Morning News reported.

RT-C ISD Seeks Bids

Round Top-Carmine ISD will be taking proposal bids for the house at 406 Centennial St., Carmine, TX 78932, to be moved. The proposal must also include site clean up after the house is removed, and plans to obtain any permits that will be required for the project. Site viewing must be scheduled with the Superintendent by calling (979) 966-6116. Proposal bids must be turned into the Elementary office at 608 N. Round Top To Hold Early Childhood Screening

The Round Top Independent School District, in cooperation with the Burton Special Services Cooperative, will screen 3 and 4-year-old children in the school district for speech delays on Thursday, August 7th between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at the Round Top Elementary School located at 608 N. Washington St.

Feed the Need Helping Out in the Hill Country

For several days now the Feed the Need Missions (which serves free burgers in downtown La Grange Monday Nights) has been in Kerr County serving meals and helping anywhere else they are needed. There group includes several people from La Grange, with more local volunteers heading to Kerr County this week.

Fatality on I-10 Here Sunday

A vehicle fire on Interstate 10 Sunday led to a traffic pileup and one fatality. Schulenburg Fire Chief Darren Guentert said his department got a call around 9:05 p.m.

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of June 22-28. Animal Complaint On June 23, Code Enforcement Animal Control Officer Gina Harden responded to the 600 block of Upton regarding a kitten that may need medical attention.
