Round Top-Carmine ISD Fall Festival Set for Oct. 18

The Round Top-Carmine ISD Fall Festival will be on Oct. 18 at the elementary school in Round Top. Dinner will be served from 4 - 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Tickets should be ordered ahead by Oct. 9. There will be a few extras sold at the door.
Flame broiled burgers are $15; Chili-cheese hot dogs are $8; and a plain hot dog is $4. All meals include chips, tea, and dessert. The rtcparentsclub accepts Venmo.
There will be games for the students and those young at heart.

Round Top-Carmine Jr. High, JV, and varsity volleyball teams host Prairie Lea on Oct. 7 with the first game at 4 p.m. for the first district game. Varsity hosts Waelder on Oct. 10 at 5 p.m. Jr. High, JV, and varsity host Fayetteville on Oct. 14 with the first game at 4 p.m.
RT-C will host an end of the season Jr. High baseball tournament on Oct. 4.
High school and Jr. high girls’ and boys’ athletes will participate in the district Cross-Country meet on Oct. 9 in Fayetteville.
Mr. Schovajsa’s Biology students completed an animal cell lab experiment that served as a pathway to constructing cells out of various materials including cake and pizza What a fun, hands on learning experience.
Monday, Oct. 13 is a school holiday due to Columbus Day.
MLLC Harvest Festival The annual MLLC Harvest Festival and Homecoming will be held on Oct. 19 at 9:30 a.m. at the Carmine Hall. Polka-style worship music will be led by the Krause Duo.
A meal of pork ribeye and sausage, potatoes, and green beans will be served from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Meal tickets are $15. Tickets for a drawing will also be sold. Tickets are available at the church office and at Carmine State Bank. You may call the church office at (979) 278-3388 for more information.
Confirmation homecoming classes ending in 5 and 0 will be recognized at the beginning of the service.
Bingo at Ledbetter
Bingo at Ledbetter has been changed to the third Sunday for the month of October. It will be held on Oct. 19 from 2-4 p.m. Doors open at 1:15 p.m.
Capital Area Food Bank The Capital Area Food Bank will have a mobile food pantry available to Fayette County residents on Oct. 18 in the parking lot of Waldeck Lutheran Church located near the intersection of FM 1291 and FM 2145. The pre-boxed food will be placed in vehicles as the client drives through the line.
MLLC News
Senior Citizens meal pickup and dominoes are Wednesday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.
Rebekah Group meets Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.
AA meeting is Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
Sunday School meets Sunday at 9 a.m.
Worship, with Holy Communion observing the Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost, is at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Ken Weiss serving as the guest pastor. The Noisy Offering will be collected for Lutherhill Ministries.
All of the offering on Oct. 12 will be donated to Lutherhill Ministries due to the damage from the fire they recently experienced.
Quilting for Lutheran World Relief is Monday at 9 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.
Domino party is Monday at 1 p.m.
