Anabel Matchett of Angleton recently received a Catholic Daughters of the Americas Texas State Court Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $500. Court Queen of the Holy Rosary No. 2282 of Hostyn and her mother Karen, who is a Hostyn CDA member, sponsored her. Anabel’s grandmother, Dianna Kallus, is a charter member of the Hostyn CDA. At the Court’s June monthly meeting, Anabel shared her essay that she wrote for the scholarship application and received a formal presentation of her award. This fund raiser pays the bills to keep the fire department running. When you dial 911, members of Winchester Area Volunteer Fire Department are at your service to put out a fire, help you in case of an injury, or even rescue you from a flood.
