Sometimes when you are in pain you want to give up, but instead you give back and that is exactly what Lisa Moellenberndt did when she decided to donate 12 inches of her hair to Wigs for Kids. Moellenberndt has had non-Hodgkin’s follicular lymphoma since 2016. Non- Hodgkin’s follicular lymphoma is a chronic condition that affects white blood cells called lymphocytes which help your body fight infections. Some symptoms that Moellenberndt has are shortness of breath, tiredness, swollen lymph nodes and generalized unexplained aches and pains. It is incurable, but is manageable with chemotherapy.

Texas Department of Public Safety conducted some water rescue training on the Colorado River near Winchester on Wednesday, June 17. Ron and Pam Knotts recently traveled to Conway, Ark. to deliver a custom-made dresser Ron had built for their granddaughter, Keylee Simpson. Ron not only made the dresser, but designed it for Keylee during the COVID-19 quarantine time. Keylee was very excited to receive her graduation present. It was a long-awaited visit, and the Knotts were able to spend a few days shopping with Keylee and her friends. They also got to try out some new restaurants. They attended church and spent some time gathering items for Keylee’s new living space and repairing other pieces of furniture. Ron and Pam hope to be able to attend the postponed graduation ceremony later this summer.

County workers recently refurbished the water fountain in the courthouse atrium and saved a bunch of money in the process.

Investigators from the Texas Office of the Attorney General searched a home and arrested a La Grange man on Thursday, according to La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath.
