As of press time, funeral arrangements were still pending for Fayette County Tax Assessor-Collector Rosalinda Adamcik, who died this week.

A longtime county employee in the tax office, Adamcik was sworn in April 1, 2015 as Tax Assessor-Collector after being recommended for the job by retiring office holder Carol Johnson. She won re-election for the job in 2016, and was running unopposed for re-election this fall.

County Judge Joe Weber issued the following statement Monday afternoon:

"We are deeply saddened by the death of our friend and co-worker Rosalinda Adamcik. No words can express the loss we feel. At this time we ask that you keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate through the days to come.  Rosalinda has served her community faithfully for 22 years and will be truly missed.  In honor of Rosalinda, her office will be closed all day Wednesday, September 2, 2020 and the Courthouse flags will fly at half-mast.  All other County offices will be closed to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on September 2."
