11th Fayette Co. Death From COVID Confirmed

The Fayette County Office of Emergency Management announced another fatal coronavirus case, bringing the virus’ death count to 11 in Fayette County. Emergency Management Chief Craig Moreau said the deceased was a man over 80 years old from Precinct 4 who died in early July.

Artist Couple, New To LG, Featured At Saturday Soiree

Art Connections Gallery welcomes two of Fayette County’s newest residents and artists as part of the featured show “The Fabulous Four” in October. Maggie and Mike Fuller have just moved from Galveston to their new home in La Grange. They bring with them a clay art studio and a wealth of talent. Adult Mental Health First Aid Programs Offered

Adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a public education program that introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact, and overviews appropriate supports. This course uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to offer initial help in a mental health crisis and connect people to the appropriate professional, peer, social and self-help care. The program also teaches common risk factors and warning signs of specific illnesses like anxiety, depression, substance use, bipolar disorder, eating disorders and schizophrenia.

Republican Women Will Meet Oct. 15

The Fayette County Republican Women (FCRW) will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, Oct. 15 at the La Grange City Hall Council Chambers 155 E. Colorado in La Grange. The social time starts at 6 p.m. and business meeting at 6:30 p.m.

Fayetteville KCs Resume BBQ Sundays

The local Knights of Columbus will be having their monthly barbecue this Sunday, Oct. 11, at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church hall pits. Pickup will begin at 10:30 a.m. and chicken, sausage and ribs will be available. Advance orders are appreciated and may be made by calling (979) 249-6003. The CDA will have side dishes available.
