Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that Investigator Jeremy Castleberry has been selected for the award of Deputy of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2020. Investigator Castleberry has been with the Sheriff’s Office for six years as the crisis intervention investigator, handling cases involving persons living with mental illness or persons experiencing a mental health crisis. Castleberry has worked in law enforcement for 12 years in both his current role and previously as a patrol officer for the City of Columbus. Castleberry is a certified instructor in numerous subjects and also oversees the Sheriff’s Office training program as well as conducting background investigations of potential new employees. Castleberry was selected for this award by the supervisors of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office in recognition of his dedicated performance.

The churches of the Shared Lutheran Ministry are having in house worship at each church at their regular worship times. You may also tune in to KTIM 89.1 at 12 noon on Sundays to listen to the recorded service.

The City of Ellinger announces that any Ellinger citizen wishing to run for the office of Mayor or commissioner needs to pick up an application in order to be placed on the ballot for election in May. Applications can be obtained from a city representative at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall from 7-10 a.m. on normal business days from Jan. 13-Feb. 12. The city election will be held on May 1. The next meeting for the City of Ellinger has been scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 28 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be at the Ellinger Community Center-Dining Hall. The agenda will be posted at the Ellinger Post Office prior to the meeting.
