Harrison Arrested After Waving Gun

La Grange Police arrested a local man on several charges after he allegedly waved a gun at family members on Saturday, Jan. 2.

According to La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath, his department received a call around 11 a.m. reporting a subject waving a gun at family members in the 400 block of North College. Officer John Wostarek responded and observed the suspect getting into a silver Dodge pickup.

Gilbreath identified the suspect as 40-year-old David Wayne Harrison of La Grange. Gilbreath said Wostarek noticed a grinder and a bag of marijuana inside the pickup. Gilbreath said Wostarek conducted a probable cause search and located a 9 mm Taurus pistol and two bags containing a total of 9.2 grams of crack cocaine. Gilbreath said police suspect the pistol was stolen because the serial number had been filed away.

Wostarek arrested Harrison for unlawfull possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a controlled substance and tampering with identification numbers on a firearm. Harrison was booked into the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
