Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Saturday evening around 6:08 p.m. Deputy Darrell Maze conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 Lexus for speeding on St. Highway 71 westbound near Hatterman Rd. Deputy Maze approached the vehicle and it sped off and a pursuit entailed.

St. Joseph’s Church is continuing the age-old tradition of the Moulton Easter Picnic. The picnic is scheduled for Easter Sunday, April 4. This has been a tradition for many years in Moulton. Father Gabriel and parishioners invite you to come join at St. Joseph’s Social Center on the church grounds.

March is Promoting Literacy Across Texas Month for CDA Court Annunciation No. 1962 and members read to the students of Sacred Heart Catholic School in ways that met our COVID-19 protocols. As always, the students had a great time and the importance of reading was highlighted. CDA member Barbara Brauner is not pictured, but she also participated.

Early bird shopping on March 23 kicked off Antiques on the Square in Fayetteville held through Sunday, March 28 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day. The overall theme is “authentic antique.” Offerings range from American antique primitives and mid-century modern to industrial and folk, with the majority of the antiques coming from our fair state of Texas. “One of the things we hear frequently at our show is ‘I’ve been looking for this all day.’ We’re a little off the beaten path but it’s worth the effort. Between the restaurants and three antique shops, a resale shop and the show vendors, there’s a lot to see and enjoy here. And we do promise authentic,” said Lisa Stansbury, antique show promoter. Fresh flowers, veggies and plants are for sale too.
