The City of Flatonia finally released some but not all documents related to the investigation into former City Secretary Melissa Brunner. The limited release follows six months of legal maneuvering by Flatonia City Attorney Angela Beck to keep the information confidential.

The La Grange boys track team continues one of its most dominant stretches in school history. The Leps ran to the team district title Thursday in Smithville as the Leps tallied 192 points to beat second place Smithville by 28 points. The Leps also won the district boys team track titles in 2018 and 2019 and even though the district track meet wasn’t held last year because of the pandemic, the Leps were heavy favorites to win that year too. So the Leps are considering Thursday’s win a district title fourpeat. A man robbed Hill Bank in Weimar last Tuesday, March 30, and got away with an undisclosed amount of money, according to a press release from Weimar Police Chief Todd Jacobs. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating the robbery, but they haven’t released any information as of last Friday.

Like all assisted living faculties and nursing home centers across the country, Fayette County’s had a multitude of rules and regulations to follow during COVID but as of last week, many of them have lessened the visitation rules and regulations.

According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, as of Sunday, there were 128 active cases of COVID-19 in Fayette County. Since the start of the pandemic the state is reporting 57 fatalities in Fayette County and 2,351 recoveries.
