Library Giving Day

Help support the Round Top Family Library Kids S.E.E. summer performances. The goal is to raise $2500 for the direct cost of summer performances. This fundraiser will take place now through Wednesday, April 7. Donations can be made online or mail a check to the Round Top Family Library, P.O. Box 245, Round Top, Tx 78954. Hermann Sons Life

Hermann Sons Life Rutersville will have their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 7 at 7 p.m. The meal will be hamburgers and members are asked to bring a side dish or dessert.

St. James BBQ

The St. James Episcopal Men’s Club will hold a barbecue Saturday, April 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until sold out, at 156 N. Monroe St across from H-E-B. A half chicken will be $3.50 and sausage link $5. This event is drive through only. This barbecue is for the benefit of the Parents as Teachers association. The Holy Smokers will be observing Covid protocols.

LG Sons of Hermann

The La Grange Sons of Hermann will have their quarterly meeting on Thursday, April 8 at 11 a.m. at Riverside Cafe. All members are invited.

Democratic Party

The monthly meeting of the Fayette County Democratic Party is scheduled for Thursday, April 8 at 6 p.m. The guest speaker will be Connie Shortes, a volunteer with Braver Angels, who will describe the workshops that this organization offers aimed at depolarizing American politics and helping to restore our civic trust in one another. Garden Club Plant & Caladium Bulb Sale

The La Grange Garden Club’s annual plant and caladium bulb sale is scheduled for 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, April 8 and 9 in the back yard of the historic Faison House located along US Hwy. 77 at the corner of S. Jefferson and W. Live Oak Streets. Plants available will be a variety of passalong plants, flowering plants, herbs as well as four varieties of caladium bulbs. In addition, a number of yard sale items will be featured. All sale proceeds help provide support for the Historic Faison House.

Pulled Pork Sandwiches

The RT-C Athletic Booster Club is selling pulled pork sandwiches Friday, April 9. Meal is $8 and served from 4:30 until 6 p.m. The game between RT-C Cubs and the Fayetteville Lions begins at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are available at RT-C High School, Carmine State Bank, Round Top State Bank, and Round Top Mercantile or email rkuekcer@rtcisd.net.

Skydiving Raffle

Take a leap or in this case, a jump of faith and enter the Fayette County Habitat for Humanity skydiving raffle. Twenty jumpers are the goal and the final two spots will be raffled off. One is being raffled off at Hank’s Express and the second spot is being raffled off at The UPS Store, both in La Grange. Each chance is $10 and each spot will have 100 tickets. The drawing will be held live on April 9 at 5:30 p.m. on the Fayette County Habitat for Humanity Facebook page.

Decoration Day Shelby Cemetery

The Shelby Cemetery, located at 5019 Voelkel Lane, will have Decoration Day on Sunday, April 11 at 2 p.m. at the cemetery.

Hermann Sons Life Plum

Hermann Sons Life Plum Lodge No. 238 will meet for their monthly meeting Monday, April 12 beginning at 4 p.m. at the Prairie Valley Schoolhouse in West Point. The lodge will provide the meal and dessert. Candidate Forum In Ellinger

The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce (ECC) is sponsoring a candidate forum for all City of Ellinger candidates on Thursday, April 15 at 7 p.m. in the ECC dining hall. Everyone is invited to come and hear the candidates that are seeking election discussing various issues.

Mental Health First Aid Class

The Colorado County Behavioral Health Task Force is offering a Mental Health First Aid Class in conjunction with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service on April 22. It will be hosted by the Columbus Community Hospital and held at the Columbus Medical Clinic’s classroom on the 2nd floor beginning at 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. To register call (979) 732-2530 by April 16. The class is limited to 20 individuals.
