La Grange Independent School District made two hires and accepted two resignations at Monday’s meeting. The board hired Christopher Cooper as the school’s new head band director.

Camp Lone Star Annual Picnic Set July 25

Camp Lone Star will be having their annual picnic on Sunday July 25 at Camp Lone Star in La Grange. The day includes music starting at 10:30 a.m., and outdoor worship service at 11 a.m. led by Pastor Ryan Neuhaus, a barbeque meal at noon and the benefit auctions from 1-3 p.m. The swimming pool will also be open for those wanting to enjoy the cool water. Each year Camp Lone Star serves over 11,000 individuals through retreats, outdoor education and of course their summer camp ministry. This annual event is a great opportunity to show support for the camp and help it to continue the ministry into the future.

Baylor Announces Dean’s List

The Dean’s Academic Honor List recognizes Baylor undergraduates for their outstanding academic work during each semester. Students honored on the Dean’s List earned a minimum semester grade-point average of 3.70 with no grade lower than a “C” while enrolled in at least 12 graded semester hours.

SHSU Announces Academic Honor Students

The students listed on the Dean’s List of Academic Honors at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville are undergraduates who have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.5 out of a perfect 4.0 in all work attempted while enrolled in not less than 12 semester hours. The university recognizes the following students for earning the honor for the Spring 2021 semester:

RT Library Selected to Receive ALA Grant

The Board of the Round Top Family Library (RTFL) is pleased to announce that the library has been selected as one of 300 libraries to participate in “Libraries Transforming Communities: Focus on Small and Rural Libraries.” This is an American Library Association initiative that helps library workers better serve their small and rural communities.
