Grand Jury Hands Down 16 Indictments

The Fayette County Grand Jury handed down 16 felony indictments on June 17.

An indictment is not a finding of guilt. Rather, a grand jury issues an indictment when they determine enough evidence exists to formally accuse a person of a crime. The defendants listed below are innocent unless proven guilty by a court.

Aaron Troy Spangenberg, 23 of Hallettsville, was indicted for fraudulent use or possession of identifying information (number of items greater than 10, less than 50), allegedly committed on March 27, 2021.

Ryan Horgan Orr, 20 of Austin, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group two, less than one gram, allegedly committed on March 18, 2021.

Randall Jay Smith, 59 of Waelder, was indicted for criminal mischief (impeding or interrupting public service), allegedly committed on March 26, 2021.

Delmar Evans Leban, 27 of Houston, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group two, less than one gram, allegedly committed on Dec. 17, 2020.

Reimi Martin Morillo-Bello, 22 of Houston, was indicted for evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, allegedly committed on Feb. 24, 2021.

Roberto Perez, 24 of Bay City, was indicted for evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, allegedly committed on April 18, 2021.

Michael Lee Aguilar, 33 of Columbus, was indicted for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, allegedly committed on May 2, 2021.

Derek Wayne Phillips Jr., 29 of La Grange, was indicted for deadly conduct (discharge of a firearm), allegedly committed on March 13, 2021.

Ethan William Karisch, 29 of Smithville, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group one, less than one gram, allegedly committed on March 12, 2021.

Axel Maradiaga-Sabillon, 19 of Cedar Creek, was indicted for aggravated assault against a public servant, allegedly committed on May 9, 2021.

Edward James Hudson Jr., 42 of Kyle, was indicted for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, allegedly committed on March 13, 2021.

Deumetrus Diane Kyle, 38 of Houston, was indicted for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, allegedly committed on March 13, 2021.

Norma Alicia Flores, 62 of El Cenizo, was indicted for money laundering (greater than or equal to $2,500 and less than $30,000), allegedly committed on April 27, 2021.

Faraz Antonio Pishbin, 33 of Tamarac, FL, was indicted for evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, allegedly committed on March 24, 2021.

Chance Edward Denton, 24 of Smithville, was indicted for burglary of building, allegedly committed on March 9, 2021.

Kase Bronson Barnard, 32 of Cedar Creek, was indicted for theft of property (greater than or equal to $30,000 and less than $150,000), allegedly committed on Sept. 24, 2020.
