The La Grange ISD Board of Trustees met Monday, July 19, and discussed several items we covered in stories in Friday’s edition. Here’s more of the issues they addressed: Internet Safety Policy David Bennett, the director of technology was at Monday night’s meeting to review the current internet safety policy.

The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring another Bingo on Saturday, July 24. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and games begin at 6 p.m. There will be two $500 jackpots and fifteen games with $1500 in prizes – $100 payout each game. Hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, deserts, and drinks will also be available. Bingo is also planned for Aug. 28, Sept. 11, Oct. 30, and Nov. 13.

Flatonia Police Chief Lee Dick submitted the following monthly report of police activity at a Flatonia City Council meeting on July 13: On May 1, Flatonia Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of W. North Main Street to a one vehicle car accident.

The Ladies of Lunch Bunch will meet Monday, July 26 at noon. Please bring your own lunch, drink and lawn chair.

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of July 11-18. Assault On July 17, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of N.

The Fayette County Firefighter’s Association reports the following calls for the week of July 11-17: Medical - 5 Accidents - 4 Grass Fires - 3 Fire Alarms - 2 Vehicle Fire - 1.

Cheryl and Matt Pekar of Weimar are happy to announce the birth of their son, Kaiden Joseph Pekar, who arrived on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 8:47 a.m. at Columbus Community Hospital.

Editor’s note: Fayette County Emergency Management Chief Craig Moreau recently gave a presentation to the La Grange Rotary Club about internet safety. He submitted the following recap of his remarks from that meeting so that everyone in the County can become aware of these issues.

The renovation of Leopard Stadium is moving forward, despite all the rain. To date, the site demolition is complete and there has been two feet of compacted select fill subgrade installed. The scoreboard structure and play clocks have also been installed and the conduits for communication and power are near completion. The goal is still to have the field ready for the

Giddings Times & News • Jennifer Redden Kramer of Lexington, who was indicted for murder in connection with the death of Christopher Michael Gonzales, has been declared incompetent to stand trial. Kramer, 41, is accused of the March 27 murder of Gonzales, 32, at the home they shared in the Blue area.
